I’m proud to be your Labour Candidate for West Midlands Mayor.
I left school at 16. I’ve since spent my career advising businesses and the public sector across the West Midlands. I understand the pride and aspirations of the people here who work hard and want to get on in life. I was part of the team that created the West Midlands Combined Authority. I brokered the first devolution deal for the West Midlands – handing powers back to local people.
But we’ve been let down by this chaotic Conservative government. They crashed the economy. Now the people of the West Midlands are paying the price. And the current Conservative Mayor has a record of over-promising and under-delivering.
I’ve never been a politician before but I’m not prepared to sit on the sidelines any more. I’ll do politics differently. Things must change.
